Rescue 7K Run for 7K 2010 Sweepstakes - Official
Rules
1. Eligibility: To be eligible to participate, entrants must be
U.S. residents who are 18 years of age or older by 10/22/2010 and
have officially registered for the North Mecklenburg Volunteer
Rescue Squad 7k Run which will take place on 10/23/2010 at 0830. To
be eligible, registrants may be required to show a valid, official
photo ID demonstrating the registrant’s legal age. North Mecklenburg
Volunteer Rescue Squad (hereinafter “the Squad”) employees including
volunteers and their immediate family members (spouses, parents,
grandparents, siblings, children and grandchildren) are not
eligible. All federal, state and local laws apply. Void where
prohibited.
The Squad and its partners
and event sponsors are not responsible for printing, distribution or
production errors and may rescind, cancel or revoke this drawing
based upon any such error without liability and at its sole
discretion. By participating in this sweepstakes, entrants waive all
right to, and hold harmless, the Squad from any loss, damage or
expense arising out of or in connection with participation in this
sweepstakes or the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize.
2. To Enter: Register for participation in the North
Mecklenburg Rescue Squad 7k Run at the Rescue 7k Run website,
www.rescue7krun.com or on
race day at the Rescue 7k Run site. Participants will only be
eligible if they complete the 7k race in 1:30:00 (1 hour
thirty minutes and zero seconds) or less. Participants in the
Children’s 1K Dash are not eligible for this contest. Only one
entry per person is allowed. The Squad is not responsible for late,
damaged, illegible, incomplete, or incorrect entries. Entries become
the property of the Squad and will not be returned. The official

3. Sweepstakes Start and
End Dates: Sweepstakes begins on August 1, 2010 when
registration for the Rescue 7k Run is opened and ends on October 23,
2010. Registration and entry for the sweepstakes must be completes
prior to the beginning of the race as denoted by the firing of the
starters pistol. An official announcement of the close of
registration will be made on the day of the race 5 minutes prior to
the initiation of the race.
4. Odds: Odds of winning depend on the number of qualified
entries received.
5. Prize Details: One (1) prize winner will be selected. Prize
winner will receive $7000 (seven thousand dollars) in prize money.
There will be no substitutions or prize alternatives. No transfer or
assignment of prizes is allowed.
6. Prize Delivery: Prize winners will receive prizes via mail within
two weeks of the completion of the race and announcement of a
winner.
7. Drawing and Awarding of
Prize(s): All possible Rescue 7k Run finishing times
between 0:18:00 (eighteen minutes and zero seconds) and 1:30:00 (one
hour thirty minutes and zero seconds) will be assigned a
corresponding code for each one second interval. Times and their
assigned codes can be viewed at
www.rescue7krun.com/race_time_codes.pdf. The winning race time
code will be randomly selected by Interactive Promotions Group (IP
Group) prior to the initiation of the race.
The pre-selected winning number will be placed in a sealed master
envelope and provided to the Squad contest supervisor at least two
(2) days prior to the beginning of the event. The secure website
provided by IP Group will be calibrated to the predetermined grand
prize winning number combination contained in the sealed master
envelope. At the completion of the race, all eligible participant
time codes will be entered into the IP Group secure website for
confirmation of a winning code match.
Confirmation and awarding of the prize will be
conducted by two (2) employees of the North Mecklenburg Volunteer
Rescue Squad. The decisions of the Squad and the IP Group on all
matters relating to this sweepstakes are final. In the event that a
race finishing time code matches the preselected code, the prize
winner will be notified at the closing ceremony of the race, or by
telephone and email following the drawing. The winner agrees that
the Squad may use his/her name or likeness for advertising and
publicity purposes without additional compensation (except where
prohibited by law).
If no race time finishing
code matches the preselected code, no prize will be awarded.
The Squad will in no way release the winning code in any manner
prior to the conclusion of this contest. Nothing may be done to
enhance a contestant’s normal chances of winning this contest.
8. Liability for Use of
Prize: By accepting the prize, the winner agrees that
the Squad and its partners and event sponsors and each of their
respective directors, employees, and agencies will be released and
held harmless for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind
related in any way or sustained in connection with the acceptance,
use or misuse, of the prize. The Squad has neither made, nor is in
any manner responsible or liable for, any warranty, representation,
or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any
prize, regarding the use, value or enjoyment of the prize,
including, without limitation, its quality, mechanical condition or
fitness for a particular purpose.
9. Miscellaneous: The Squad reserves the right, in its sole
discretion, to void suspect entries and/or modify, terminate or
suspend this Sweepstakes should a virus, bugs, non-authorized human
intervention or other causes corrupt or impair the administration,
security, fairness or proper operation of the Sweepstakes. In the
event of termination of the Promotion, the Squad may, at its
discretion, select winners from all eligible, non-suspect entries
received prior to event requiring such termination. This contest is
subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where
prohibited. The North Mecklenburg Volunteer Rescue Squad accepts no
responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses
or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance,
possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder. The North
Mecklenburg Volunteer Rescue Squad cannot be held liable for any
lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
10. Trademarks: Any trademarks used in this promotion are the
property of the respective trademark owners and are used for
identification purposes only.
11. List of Winner(s): For a list of winners, send a self-addressed,
stamped envelope to North Mecklenburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, Rescue
7k for 7k Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 622, Huntersville, NC 28070 by
December 1, 2010. In your request, state that you would like a copy
of the “winners list” for the “Rescue 7k Run 10/23/2010”.
12. Sponsor: North Mecklenburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
Box 622, Huntersville, NC 28070. The Squad is a nonprofit
organization that provides EMS first responder and rescue services
to the citizens of Huntersville, NC and some of North Mecklenburg
County, NC.
You understand that you are
providing your information to the North Mecklenburg Volunteer Rescue
Squad. The information you provide will only be used for Squad
purposes only and will not be shared with any third parties unless
already noted in the race waiver agreed upon at the time of
registration.
The North Meck Rescue 7k for 7k Run is managed by The Interactive Promotions Group. All decisions rendered by the Interactive Promotions Group are considered official and final.
